The most guaranteed and educational experience. Take a short boat trip (~15 min from Sanur) to the Turtle Conservation & Education Centre. Watch baby turtles being cared for in nursery tanks, learn about conservation, then release hatchlings into the sea with a boat trip. Ideal for a 9-year-old — structured, fascinating and deeply moving.

BSTS Sanur Beach Release

The Bali Sea Turtle Society operates right on Sanur Beach with sunset releases during hatching season. Free to participate — tokens handed out 3–4pm on a first-come basis. In August releases happen almost every day. A magical bonus experience — your son gets to hold and release a hatchling at sunset on the beach.

Wild Snorkelling — Nusa Lembongan

The most thrilling encounter — swimming alongside wild sea turtles in their natural ocean habitat. Lembongan waters are famous for regular turtle sightings, especially in August. Book through Pemedal Beach Resort for a guided snorkelling trip. Your son will remember this for the rest of his life!
